Our culinary arts program began in 1993 with the
purpose of helping unemployed adults gain skills for employment. Our first
class consisted of four students for four months. Over the years, we have
added many components to our program and introduced new programs to meet the
needs of the students and to provide industry standard curriculum.Many of
our students have advanced to receive their Red Seal. In 2003 we became
accredited by PCTIA, the Private Career Training Institutions Agency. This
designation allows students to apply for funding through Human Resources and
Skills Development Canada, or to receive government student loans. We have
an ongoing process to ensure the school meets the high level of standards
expected by PCTIA, ITA, StudentAid and, of course, industry employers.
Employers regularly seek to hire our students; we have one of the highest
job placement rates in British Columbia for our graduate chefs.
