We can help you prepare for a successful career in the
culinary arts field. Through our twelve month program, you can train
as a professional cook with qualifications for employment in the food
service industry including hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, catering
companies, institutions, hospitals and care facilities. When you graduate
from our program, you will be qualified to write the Professional Cook 1
Industry Training Authority exam.
Learn the fundamentals of professional cooking
in our twelve month program. If you only need to upgrade certain skills, three-month and six-month modules
are
available. You will spend forty
hours a week on site, which includes some evenings and weekends as is
normal in the food service industry. As well, you will want to spend another
two or more hours a day in study time at home to fully achieve your goals.
We operate a live kitchen,
which helps equip our students for success as
professional cooks. Most of the school day is spent creating meals for
guests at functions booked through our convention centre, and for the
residents of Cascade Court. The busy convention centre provides opportunity
for students to prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and to become
comfortable with the challenges involved in serving large groups and
multiple functions. Supplying food service for residents of Cascade Court is
excellent experience for those who hope to work in care facilities and
hospitals.
Our Chef Training Instructors
are Certified Red Seal Chefs with extensive training. Each has over
twenty-five years of wide-ranging experience. They are dedicated to helping
you succeed in a career in the culinary arts. As well, qualified instructors
coach team building and development of personal and professional goals to
prepare you for long-term success in your chosen career field.

in the food service industry, Professional Cook 1 and Professional Cook 2 training
is available to you without leaving your job. You can can develop your skill base and advance
your career training while you continue to work.
